About the Journal
Bayreuther Blätter was a monthly magazine founded by Richard Wagner in 1878 and edited by Hans von Wolzogen until 1938. It was closely linked to the Bayreuth Festival and covered music, art, culture and festival matters. The first five volumes also featured writings by Wagner himself. Today, Bayreuther Blätter is regarded as an important source for the history of the festival and the circle of people associated with Richard Wagner.
