About the Physico-Medical Society
In 1827, Johann Baptist Friedreich (1796–1862), a forensic physician, writer, and poet, founded the Philosophical-Medical Society of Würzburg. The Society existed independently until 1853, when it was incorporated into the Physico-Medical Society of Würzburg.
The statutes published in 1827, as well as their revised version from 1831, are available via Franconica – The Collection Portal.
Information about the history of the Philosophical-Medical Society and the current activities of the Physico-Medical Society can be found on the Society’s official homepage.
